What a Rush

I got up late and have no time,
no time to ponder or to rhyme.
But I got some rest and that’s good.
But I didn’t write like I should.
~
My love won’t wake to poetry,
no token of love made by me.
Just hugs and kisses will have to do.
And the simple words “I love you”
~
I’ll hold her tight before I go,
then some more to let her know.
Words are conjured in the mind,
then sculpted on paper when time’s to find.
~
Time is precious and not to waste,
love endures no need for haste.
Sometimes heads are full of mush.
But the future’s ours, no need to rush.

Plan Be

Life was all planned with nothing to do.
I then turned a corner and chanced upon you.
The sky’s a little bluer, my life now much less.
My future now is clearer, nothing’s left to guess.
~
Fear no longer lingers when joy’s by my side.
The outside beckons louder with no need to hide.
You make me smile always and again I feel alive.
Alone I was withering, now together we will thrive.

Sensing Time

When together we are one.
Distance between, there is none.
Your loving hands I need so much.
Yet days can pass without your touch.
~
Time stands still without your kiss.
Your glowing smile, when apart I miss.
But when your presence I recall,
we’re really not apart at all.
