Life was all planned with nothing to do.
I then turned a corner and chanced upon you.
The sky’s a little bluer, my life now much less.
My future now is clearer, nothing’s left to guess.
Fear no longer lingers when joy’s by my side.
The outside beckons louder with no need to hide.
You make me smile always and again I feel alive.
Alone I was withering, now together we will thrive.
I feel a storm a brewin’
And thoughts, they are a stewin’
Seems procrastination ain’t so great
Time it seems just won’t wait
Youthful dreamin’ put on hold
Earnin’s first, I’ve been told
While the future does still beckon
It’s path though I’ve yet to reckon
But my guitar needs a playin’
And my hips need a swayin’
My pencil needs more dancin’
And of course there’s more romancin’
So much to do, so little time left to waste
Ponderin’s ahead, no need for haste
I am after all a master procrastinator
So I’ll get old, but just a little bit later
I woke today the sky was gray,
not a speck of blue in sight.
Plans may change or rearrange,
though together the day’s bright.
The sun will set with no regret,
and in your eyes I’ll see starlight.
Evening embraced with you I’m graced,
till dreams follow of our day’s delight.
