Amiss the spark that kindles slight

Drowned ablaze in airless fright

Volumes of ash on which to write

Cloaked in smoky forever night

Darkness fogs the wearies sight

Blinding jabs will lose the fight

Gentle touch soothes body’s plight

Awake to arms, hearth burns bright

Rejoice to stars and cool of night

Fires of light and warmth burn right

Colors return from black and white

Rekindled flame of two hearts delight

Sparks anew on celestial flight

To write of the past when all is new

To write of life when opinions are plenty

To write of youth that ends at twenty

To write of joy is to write of grief

To write of pain is of no relief

To write of boredom is to never be bored

To write of lust like sports is scored

To write of love is to love first

To write of hate your mind will burst

To write of fear the fearful not dare

To write without fear is to write without care

To write of lies is to confess

To write of death is just a guess

To write of nothing is no life at all

Sure to be a better day,
changes planned and underway.
Empty space now filled with life.
Fulfillment felt when no strife.

Smiling faces greet each dawn.
Kisses next, for to each we’re drawn.
Nothing’s hidden with mutual love,
between the sheets or above.

Chapters end and a new begins,
mourning faces again to grin.
With every day there’s a night,
our forever tomorrow’s forever bright.

I saw today my baby’s start

 Opened her eyes and stole my heart

 I saw today her smile at me

 We brought her home, safe as can be

 I saw today her tucked in bed

 Gently leaned over to kiss her head

 I saw today my baby weep

 Snuggled her gently back to sleep

 ~

 I saw today my baby eat

 Covered from head to little feet

 I saw today my baby sit

 Then fell over in a giggle fit

 Tried to escape down the hall

 Holding my finger in her hand

 Then soon after began to talk

 Laughing and screaming, having  fun

 The wall and it shall never part

 Climbed too high and fell from the tree

 0n her belly, red, green and blue

Opened the door and that was that

Though too young to be off  her  trike

Tub’s full, splashes over the rim

Tiny violin with bow so long

She had to shop for something new

Not holding hands, acting cool

On the coach napping with bunny

Just for fun and not for romance

I hope she doesn’t go too far

Then off to college, she’ll do great

Off to the city, on her own
