Twas a fable yet scribed I chanced on a trail
Whilst adjusting lapels on my shiny chain-mail
Running behind by fast falling hail
When caught by surprise by a soon too late snail
Rushing past for the tour of a mighty blue whale
A little boy followed, arms all a flail
Yelling and screaming and waving a pail
Fearing for life, I ratted out the snail
Thus rightly rewarded a tasty round quail
I plucked a plume, it barked a wail
I flew to the pub and grabbed me an ale
I asked of bread, it answered stale
I ordered steak and was given kale
Complained to a waiter who proceeded to rail
Then I was bounced out, back onto the trail
Went in head first and came out on my tail
Now bumps and bruises read like braille
Poking and prodding will always fail
The highs and lows of a musical scale
Whilst the notes remaining … twas this tale

Warm Thought-
Logs glow on the fire
Hearth’s warming a loving home
Hearts need never roam

Warmer Thought-
Smoke billows skyward
Hot ash preserves the warm glow
Of your fiery eyes

Seed of Humanity-
Wizards of the wood
Shaping civilizations
Reaching for the sky

With eyes to the heavens, feet on the earth, hands to our hearts and with our souls radiating from within in all directions, everywhere, to everyone, feel the unity of flesh, spirit and our minds; for we are many, we are one.
Let us rejoice and pay tribute to our forebears, their memory roams among us. It is their remains beneath our feet, covered by the soils of our homage. For it was they who suffered, toiled and worked tirelessly and proudly. It was they who fought the harshest of elements and the temptations of giving up. It was they, whose only desire was to build a home, where once nothing, home for their children, our children and the future.
Let us give our thanks and praise to those that lived before us, to the men and women who gave all and asked nothing in return but the hope, a dream that what they’ve done was good.

We live in a world called reality,
adding moments of fantasy,
moments shared in poetry.
*
Poetic words shared for fans to see,
words when seen become reality.
Thus reality and fantasy is poetry.
*
*Poems Law: P= R+ F, P- R = F, P- F= R
P= poetry, R= reality, F= fantasy

A summer morning lovely,
I dashed out for a walk.
The birds were singing cheerfully,
we all then had a talk.
~
They asked me where I’m going,
I told them I don’t know.
They said they’re not surprised,
that’s how humans go.
~
They’re always going someplace,
not often knowing where.
You’d think they own this planet,
the one we have to share.
~
I feared my life was over,
Hitchcock came to mind.
A war soon was coming,
everything against mankind.
~
I hurried home to safety,
not knowing what to do.
My dog now too looks scary,
gnawing on a plastic chew.

I warn you now I have no clue
Where this poem is going to
Or if it is a poem at all
I can’t decide, you make the call
`
Trees fallen for me to rhyme
Till out of space, bounds, breath and time
Out to lunch and there I’ll join you
We’ll rearrange words on life’s menu
`
Time is free, food is not
Sleep spent in dollars per spot
Feet walk, wheels run
Hands make wings to the sun
`
Voices singing for all who hear
Through buds growing in the ear
Tiny wires dangle from there
Yet no-one seems to give a care
`
With tablet and Wi-Fi at the ready
Media replaced good ole teddy
Designer binkies between the lips
Smartphones at the fingertips
`
Toddlers hunched, stroller bound
Multi cup-holders and Dolby sound
Of course a visor to shield the sun
The big glowing face that was once fun
`
Now a menace to one and all
Best to stay in until the fall
When leafy suburbs bags abound
Full of leaves, once on the ground
`
Cleared from lawns to keep them green
Exchanged with poisons in-between
Until the snow, when all’s forgotten
Of summer days way back when
`
When sunny skies made all seem bright
Laughter filling playful moonlight
Now games played with only thumbs
Killing the most for the biggest sums
`
Some might win the rest will lose
Most can’t, but some will choose
Now we’ve all a choice to make
Was it ever real or just a real fake?
`
Or if it ever will be, or ever was
Or just maybe it is – just because

Bubbles can be big
Bubbles can be small
Bubbles mostly clear
But not always a ball
.
From the wands of wizards
Bubbles bring much joy
From toddlers to centurions
They’re everyone’s favorite toy.
.
In tubs, ponds and pools
Bubbles can be had
Sure to bring a giggle
To the naughty and the sad
.
But when a bubble’s external
And we’re trapped within
Remember that fun is free
When it’s made with a grin

While riding today on my swing,
I heard a song and started to sing.
It’s an outside song, inside not heard,
beetles clicking with a chirping bird.
*
In the wood wind blows through the trees.
Back-up came from the buzzing bees.
Keeping the beat atop a log,
bass was played by a croaking frog.
*
My little dog barked but not too loud.
My kitty cat danced and meowed.
It’s nature’s band and I will sing,
soaring high on my backyard swing.

I went to an umbrella factory.
I’m glad it didn’t pour.
They don’t make umbrellas there,
at least not anymore.
~
There were a few gift shops,
some chickens and an emu.
The restaurant was closed,
there wasn’t much left to do.

But I saw my little Ena.
We had a really nice time.
We said our long goodbyes.
Then home to write today’s rhyme.

Day two’s now well underway,
I’ve nothing to write, nothing to say.
But I’m happy and that’s always OK,
couldn’t ask for a prettier day.
~
So I’ll just ponder, won’t read the news,
I’d rather be dull than shine with the blues.
It’s time to reflect on all of life’s hues.
It’s time to relax, I’ve paid my dues.
~
But I’ll do something, which goes without saying,
I am getting older, my hair now graying.
I’ve a world to inspire, no time for delaying,
just not today, after all I’m vay-kay-ing.

On this morning’s walk
while enjoying the breeze
I passed by a garden
and started to sneeze
~
I think my thinking cap
Must have blown away
I’ve searched frantically
all morning and day
~
Without my cap
my thought’s gone astray
The pretty blue sky
has now turned to gray
~
I tried an umbrella
that didn’t work
I wore a helmet
but felt like a jerk
~
Without my cap
my writing will end
I guess today
I’ll have to pretend

Sailed the seas on a pirate ship
Skied mountains, almost broke my hip
Boxed the champ, he bit his lip
A chocolate cow found, took a sip
.
Touched the clouds from my balloon
Wrestled a bear and a baboon
I flew in a rocket to the moon
Then got hungry, be back soon
.
Dove to the bottom of oceans deep
Then up in a plane, took a leap
While floating down went back to sleep
My dreams are fun, no need to weep
.
Opened eyes, wiped sleep from brow
Looked all around but saw no cow
I know it’s time to wake up now
I’ll dream again, someway, somehow
