Philosophers seek the meaning of life,
Poets seek only love.

A lonely sun set at half past six.
Four eyes meet, see what’s to fix.
Sparks await the candle wicks.
Clarity’s felt by candle sticks.
The sun’s warmth wakens at half past six.

An open mind, an open door
Footsteps patter on the floor
Yet when I sit there is no more
Do more await? I unsure
To stand and be risen unknowns arise
Ceilings reachable below endless skies
Truth’s unheard written of lies
Right and wrong said before our eyes
Walls surround; Air, earth and skin
Fences seen higher trapped within
Fall and fail or leap and win?
Gates close when new sides begin

The more the numbers
become obvious the more
they’re irrelevant.

My Oh my what does life signify?
Do I laugh or do I cry?
Do I boast or be shy?
Shall I smile or just sigh?
Am I honest or do I lie?
Do I live or do I die?
Do I accept or ask why?

Drawing lines.
Building shrines.
Slicing time.
Hiding grime.
Poets paint.
Painters rhyme.
Good guys kill,
for the crime.
Bad guys kill,
for the lust.
Bankers earn,
for the trust.
Numbers lie.
Trust we must.
Letters shade.
Muddles made.
Shades of gray.
Sunless day.
Stormy winds.
Erase our way.
Time will dawn.
New life drawn.
Drawing lines.
