Trumping Trial-less Tribulations

~

Traversing tribulations;
on a quest for better situations,
dreaming dreams of our past,
finding nightmares came to fast.
Parents seeking wages,
find now children in cages.

Sought was a new life,
free from dominance and strife.
But how soon we forget,
our immigrant ancestors wishful bet.

Improving lives without hesitation
was the founding of this new nation.
Salvation given, a new fabric knit.
Kings be damned! “We” was writ.

Now a bum on his throne,
dreams a world he can own.
Manipulating his masses,
heads up their asses.
Wiping tears from wistful eyes,
blurred are lines of trickle down cries.

On a race of superior stupidity,
destruction reigns for pale supremacy.
With tribal fear to defend,
this world they will end.

Pick’s in hand, sticks in mind,
harps guide in words I find.
Inspiration meets, greets and fleets.
Hearts feel souls on streets.

Vibrations good, silence strange.
Eyes flicker, scenes change.
A world of waves: hellos, goodbyes.
Exuberance crashes laughs with cries.

Future’s run forward, stepping away.
Winnings cost, losses sway.
Pencil’s sharp to fill the gray.
F M, I’ll beat another day.

Forecasting a Past

I’m too old to be a rock star,
too young to drive a big car.
With a Bugs Bunny brain and body of Fudd,
both barrels blaze, half’s a dud.

In my high fidelity cartoon I animate,
pages fanned, notes came late.
Rhythm’s slowed, meter’s now feet,
when the song remains the same chapter’s complete.

Yet I’ve albums to fill and records to break,
while my quill gently weeps for time I ache.

A Beautiful Day

With bay breezes to call our own,
we savored the scents of flora unknown.
We explored a “cottage” of comfort and beauty,
though none as splendid as the beauty with me.

With green eyes glowing and blonde hair flowing,
hand in hand our two hearts knowing.
We’ve art and nature and the joy it brings,
a victrola played and to me she sings.

The future holds tomorrow’s key.
Turn the latch or let it be.
Day and night’s time we see.
Dreams blind, mind’s free.

World’s explored, new people met.
Creatures frolic with no regret.
Wingless we soar without a net.
Color suspends our endless sunset.

But awake we must, we must agree.
Some turn over, some turn the key.

Tonight’s goodbyes become tomorrow’s hellos.
The sun rises, waking sky blues and yellows.
Our earth welcoming the day’s green.
Smiles await, the prettiest seen.

Greetings warmed with a hug and kiss.
Sunsets enthrall, never to miss.
Evenings embrace beneath starlit skies.
And tomorrows hellos are tonight’s goodbyes.

Little Things

~

We’ve walks in the wood and strolls on Main Street.
Our times hand in hand are always a treat.
We’ve snuggled close many a night at the beach.
Our windows foggy, but horizon’s in reach.

We’ve sat at home with the music down low.
Our lips in sync to the songs we both know.
We’ve woke to mornings wishing to never end.
Our moments magnified when a lover’s a friend.

Don’t fear death, but be concerned.
You’ll leave behind all you’ve learned
The bridges crossed and bridges burned.
Stones skipped while some left unturned

Desires quenched and desires yearned.
Heads dazed and heads turned.
Friendships had and friendships spurned.
Sublime sedations’ and emotions churned.

There’s love given and the love returned.
So be forgotten not, life was earned.
