Dream me a Dream

Dream me a dream of forever nights

When the one you desire comes into sight

Touching this heart most tenderly

Embraced are we in love’s poetry.

 ~

Dream me a dream of forever days

Together our visions cut through the haze

Freeing the mind of all that was feared

When Poetic embrace is forever shared

 ~

Dream me a dream of walking together

Sharing our love of ink and feather

Floating away in the dreams we desire

Where poetic hearts share words to inspire

~

Dream me a dream where dreams I’ll not need

Dream me a dream where my heart doesn’t bleed

Where a dream never ends or departs

Residing forever, a place in my heart

Jingle Writer

I want to be a jingle writer, write jingles every day.

I want to be a jingle writer, jingles all the way.

I want to be a jingle writer ‘cos there’s bills to pay.

I want to be a jingle writer, not much more too say.

*

I want to be a jingle writer and work from my backyard.

I want to be a jingle writer, poets work too hard.

I want to be a jingle writer, don’t understand avant-garde.

I want to be a jingle writer, no need to be a bard.

*

I want to be a jingle writer and put my tools to use.

I want to be a jingle writer, write short and loose.

I want to be a jingle writer; I’ll be no Dr. Seuss.

I want to be a jingle writer until I’m cut from the noose.

The End

In the Dark

~*~
If to imagine a perfect life;
paths of ease and little strife,
morning smiles and a noon surprise,
sunsets reflected in each other’s eyes.

Our eve’s playful, toying future schemes.
Nights shared cuddling, kissing and living our dreams.
The sun then will rise for me and you.
Each day a new start of our lives anew.

None Today

~

There’ll be no daily sonnet today.

Thought has wandered and gone astray.

Nimble quill won’t dance on parchment bare,

seducing lonely on table near.

The well is dry from which I must drink.

Chair is empty were journeys to think.

No inky tears shed, blotted or smeared.

No blackened hands bloodied and feared.

Letters scrambled all over my mind.

Their chosen order I cannot find.

Brittle wax puddle proves candles death.

The darkness swallows my daylights breath.

Blindness shackles a masked and heavy head.

I shrink into my unwanted bed.

Heart and soul content for tomorrow.

When ink, I hope, once more will flow

All Right

Hurry up it’s getting late,
the morning’s nearly past.
I missed today’s sunrise
and the roads are filling fast.
~
It’s not that I’ve a place to go,
or anyone I need to see.
I just like the early morning time,
it’s when my mind is free.
~
I prefer to write at first light
and be ready when my darling wakes.
She’ll sip a coffee and read her poem,
with a couple of kissing breaks.
~
Our day then starts happily
and continues through the night.
Then we’ll snuggle once again
and know that all’s alright.
~
Whispers we’ll share and more kisses too,
until our eyelids weigh.
We’ll dream about each other
and yet another wonderful day.

All Right

The day is gray, my mood is bright.
The air is cold but I’ve seen the light.
My darling slumbers, cozy and warm.
Together we’re safe, surviving the storm.
~
With a kiss she’ll awake from a dream.
Our eyes meet and our faces will beam.
The hugging continues meshed as one.
Another day for us has now begun.
~
Time will pass, eventually we’ll rise.
The future’s now clear in our loving eyes.
The dreams of day become the dreams of night.
Our tomorrows the same and that’s all right.

Order Free

I woke today to another blank page,
options limitless within its cage.
Alarms can’t jar when life is free.
And if words don’t flow, that’s on me.
~
Though this day’s cold and wet,
it’s sunny somewhere, this I’d bet.
But I’m not there and that’s my choice.
T’is where I sit I find my voice.
~
Close your eyes and the lights go out.
Close your mind and life’s in doubt.
In our heads is where we live.
Excuses none when none to give.
~
And time it seems has a friend,
when time it seems, has no end.
When procrastination‘s in the past.
And nothing ever goes too fast.
~
But time does end and we’re still friends,
besties or maybes’ just depends.
So warmth I’ll share this winters’ day.
The warmth felt is for you to say.
~
And when you awake from tonight’s dreams,
It’ll be yesterday, or so it seems.
Then smile at all you may have missed.
And share more magic with those you’ve kissed.
~
You won’t recall this subliminal mess,
but you’ll dream and that’s no guess.
So goodnight for now, I’ll see you then,
when the world’s in order, not if but when.

Always Time

I could write another love poem,
but all the words I’ve used.
Maybe a poem of friendship and intimacy,
or perhaps how two souls fused.
~
I might write about a sunset,
or maybe the new days’ dawn.
I could weave a tale of unicorns,
since it’s fantasy I’m drawn.
~
I could share more about my dreams,
as it is a third of my time.
But I’m sure I’ll write more love poems,
she being my most passionate rhyme.

Let’s

The harder one works the easier it gets.
The grosser it is the more one nets.
The less you gamble the safer the bets.
Jackpots may allude but so will regrets.
~
All that glitters not gold, like sunsets.
The more thought is less the debts.
The higher the notes the wider one frets.
The more down the more upsets.
~
The more learned the less one forgets.
The more tolerance is less threats.
Climbs less long the more one jets.
Couples always pair but never sets.
~
The more the better never abets.
The more lost the more one sweats.
Appetites appeased the more one wets.
The more prepared is the less not yets.
~
If all could love all, we’d all be pets.
And if all loved forever, we’d all be vets.
From the onset there’s no a preset or resets.
There’s only mindsets and begets.
~
After all, the world is just half duets.
So let’s all play well together, yes lets.

On the Rise

The sun rose before my eyes,
a morning poem’s on the rise.
A burst of orange is better than gray,
a better start to a better day.
~
Seeds of solace lovingly grown,
notes from friends set the tone.
Music’s on and coffee’s hot,
yesterday’s chill know forgot.
~
The clock reminds it’s time to go,
a future’s ahead though yet to show.
Dreams now at rest and goals call,
life awaits, good morning all.

Gasping

Shake me please, I can not wake.
Mind’s exhausted, rest I ache.
Nightmares consume the hours long.
Alarms blare with every song.
~
A love taken another lost,
spirits dictate, sheets tossed.
Days dark by night I mourn.
Time shared now heart’s torn.
~
Dreams of tomorrow gone in a blink,
eyes shut I fear to think.
Shake me please, I can not wake.
Yesterday’s choke each breath I take.

The Sands of Time Between My Toes

As a boy I walked the beach every day.
I stared at the horizon to find my way.
Visions of tomorrow filled my head;
days without fear and a true love to wed.
~
Ripples between obscured the view.
Sink or swim’s all I could do.
Years thrashing to stay afloat,
my life preserver’s gone and I no boat.
~
From the storm a distant shore arose.
Memories conjured with sand between her toes.
With a youthful splash and mind in the skies,
yesterday’s future floated before my eyes.
~
Was a summer returned, the same and new.
That time’s now gone but dreams came true.
The boy now grown, ending his wait.
If a past meant to be it wouldn’t be late.

Every Other Flight

Sleepy eyes look to the skies,
I see all is bright.
A sleepy head soon off to bed,
whispers an unheard goodnight.
~
For love that beams, now it seems,
is shrouded from the light.
The moon does glow but tomorrow will go,
then to rise again another night.
~
Dreams awake from visions take.
And reality blurs my sight.
As reality is just yesterday’s fizz,
a cocktail of frivolity, felicity and fright.
~
Lids now subdued, some are screwed.
But I’ve slept before and I toss and turn alright.
Then from my tussled bed with foggy head,
I’ll rise again, again I’ll fight.

Friggadoon

Century’s lost beneath a frigid sea.
A mystery shrouded from you and me.
One hundred years till the darkest of night.
A body shall be risen once gone from sight.
~
Subjects none, she’s a queen alone.
An island rests till her desire’s grown.
She’ll rise from the mist in fur, feather and scale.
Cloaked of face, she’s lovely beyond the pale.
~
Her quest is simple; to attain her reflection,
caught from a soul’s image of loves perfection.
Her call is silent, her essence shines through.
Once chosen, there’s none you can do.
~
Her attraction’s permanent, like flies on sweets.
And entice she does with her anticipated treats.
From a dream plucked, it’s her prey of late.
In a line they’ll stand with surety of fate.
~
Then only she will choose.
Who’ll be the winner this time to lose.
The others left bereft of heart.
Free for now to long another start.
~
The queen now quenched returns to her bed.
Her emptiness filled, rube’s again shed.
And the rest of us wonder of the tales that be.
Or am I to flounder in a flash of the sea?
