Cut

I woke this morning without a thought.
Inspiration and ideas today are naught.
I’m not depressed, just a little blue,
trying not to be stressed but so much to do.
~
These past few years filled with good and bad.
Happy at times but I feel more sad.
Love was had and gone, felt again but lost.
Now to love again I fear the cost.
~
Heart’s fragile, just a throbbing lump.
Mind’s cluttered like a dump.
My soul burns for a sunny day.
My body aches for a better way.
~
Feeling flush or torn to shards,
time it seems, holds all the cards.
What’s the deal, I ask with reservation.
Rise and shine or be dulled with hesitation.

Night & Day

I rose at sunrise hoping for light.
Solace unfound in the dead of night.
The sky was clear, the outside bright.
Dirty dishes in my sink obscured my sight.
~
Beauty’s framed between the panes.
Life’s contained within our brains.
The past raps our view in chains.
Hearts beat with bloody stains.
~
An hour passed and coffee’s done.
Distracted by clutter there’s no time for fun.
The future surrounds with nowhere to run.
Plans unmade have already begun.
~
Standing still won’t get you there.
Steps taken lead to somewhere.
Dreams awaken wishes to share.
Wishing only dreams awakens a nightmare.
~
Steady ground supports our feet.
Standing tall feels complete.
Second cups ready, I feel the heat.
And a little sugar helps make it sweet.

Always Sunny

In darkness risen for a day surely bright.
Dawn awaits the future in sight.
Weather’s uncertain but spirits alight.
Drizzle chilled can dampen not our night.
~
A sun shining somewhere is on my mind.
Horizons call together we’ll find.
Souls united with hearts in kind.
The warmth of two leaves darkness behind.

No Bad Goodbyes

~~~
Tonight’s goodbyes become tomorrow’s hellos.
The sun rises, waking sky blues and yellows.
Our earth welcoming the day’s green.
Smiles await, the prettiest seen.
Greetings warmed with a hug and kiss.
Sunsets enthrall, never to miss.
Evenings embrace beneath starlit skies.
And tomorrows hellos are tonight’s goodbyes.
New Frontier
Another sun rose, words yet to appear.
Birds chirping happily, their voices I can’t hear.
My darling soon awoken, my hearts full of cheer.
Life filling silence sounds to me so dear.
Another morning passes, writing is unclear.
Returning soon it may, or maybe many a year.
I thought I wrote with pencil, I guess it’s with my ear.
Now another day’s calling, time to get in gear.
