Buggered

Every glitch finds a way;
to fix itself or wreck the day.
Sometime things don’t work as planned.
Sometime plans must be panned.
~
A cat with fleas is truly bad.
A ruined trip is surely sad.
Heads in a tizzy, tensions on high,
sometime maybes just won’t fly.
~
But some time things do work out.
And all ends well where there was doubt.
The cat’s O.K. and the kid’s on her jet.
And a story’s to tell, this I’ll bet.

Switching Gears

My poet switch has gone awry;
I want to write, so I don’t know why.
In sit in the chill this Sunday morn,
my thoughts warm but I’m torn.
~
I’d rather not force the words to go;
I prefer a natural flow.
Love abounds and all is well.
My brain’s working, as far as I can tell.
~
My darling sleeps whilst I scribble.
But today she’ll wake to only dribble.
Maybe it’s just this change in time.
And tomorrow I’ll return to standard rhyme.

Good Day Anyway

When I don’t feel great, I get up too late.
And the sun’s now high in the sky.
~
The day’s now begun, but with hours less fun.
And I’m finding not much to say.
~
With coffee and torch, I head for the porch,
awaiting that first smoke of the day.
~
The music’s down low, the words start to flow.
And time’s now starting to fly.
~
I raise my head, thankfully not dead.
No need to question why.
~
With love all around, my two feet on the ground,
I see there’s no better way.

Infusion

It’s been a few days without a love poem writ.
The pencil’s working but I’ve run out of wit.
The words will come, but I know not from where.
I could try to force it, but I don’t dare.
~
Autumns felt and change underway,
adjustments are made every day.
But know one thing; my love won’t wane,
for you’re now infused with my body, soul and brain.

To Be Two, Too

Each other’s person is half a pair,
each moment’s doubled when two’s to share.
Work’s divided and troubles half,
one will smile, and both will laugh.
~
Feelings felt always in sync,
every blink’s seen as a wink.
When each is first there’s no last.
With only tomorrows there’s no past.
~
When one is lo, the other ve,
when one’s hi, both are free.
Two hands held the future’s bright.
And all that’s left is to be alright.

Dawn’s Rap

I listen to the wind chime,
writing down a new rhyme,
like I do all the time.
But don’t dis me, it’s not a crime.
~
I’m thinking of my best friend,
the one I’ll love until the end.
She’s to cherish and defend,
her love of me I depend.
~
I pen a poem every day;
I say the words I cannot say.
Sometime blue and sometimes gay,
I write a lot but not for pay.
~
We talk a lot every night;
we laugh a lot and never fight.
We kiss a lot and know it’s right.
I stare at her in the morning light.
~
I get up early, no time to waste,
I need my morning coffee taste.
No need to hurry, no need for haste,
she’ll wake soon and I’ll be graced.
~
The hour near, I make the climb.
I’ll slip back in bed just like a mime.
Her eyes will open and my day’s sublime.
Then we’ll listen to the wind chime.

Foggy but Clear

Counting the seconds before the rain,
morning fog has fogged my brain.
The hour early but work is waiting,
I have to go there’s no debating.
~
My love slumbers while I think.
Her morning poem is on the brink.
Minutes pass without a word.
But not to write would be absurd.
~
I see her sleeping in my mind.
A more equal love I’ll never find.
Nightly visions I wish to keep,
I dream of her when I’m asleep.
~
Another hour just slipped past,
she’ll soon awake so I’ll write fast.
Though nothing deep in her poem today,
fortunately words aren’t love anyway.

Serendipity

A busy day has just begun;
I got up late, no time for fun.
So it’s off to work in a flash,
I’d rather not but I need the cash.
~
The time is near when time’s my own.
I’m not too old but surely grown.
Retirement’s to be my second chance.
I’ll write all day and enjoy romance.
~
I’ll still get up early, I like the dawn.
I’ll take out the dog to pee on the lawn.
The sun will rise and words will flow.
There’ll be no rushing, I’ve nowhere to go.
~
But that time’s a few weeks away,
my feelings then I cannot say.
But I’m thinking I’ll yell YIPPY!
Then go home for a life of serendipity.

What a Rush

I got up late and have no time,
no time to ponder or to rhyme.
But I got some rest and that’s good.
But I didn’t write like I should.
~
My love won’t wake to poetry,
no token of love made by me.
Just hugs and kisses will have to do.
And the simple words “I love you”
~
I’ll hold her tight before I go,
then some more to let her know.
Words are conjured in the mind,
then sculpted on paper when time’s to find.
~
Time is precious and not to waste,
love endures no need for haste.
Sometimes heads are full of mush.
But the future’s ours, no need to rush.

Plan Be

Life was all planned with nothing to do.
I then turned a corner and chanced upon you.
The sky’s a little bluer, my life now much less.
My future now is clearer, nothing’s left to guess.
~
Fear no longer lingers when joy’s by my side.
The outside beckons louder with no need to hide.
You make me smile always and again I feel alive.
Alone I was withering, now together we will thrive.

Sensing Time

When together we are one.
Distance between, there is none.
Your loving hands I need so much.
Yet days can pass without your touch.
~
Time stands still without your kiss.
Your glowing smile, when apart I miss.
But when your presence I recall,
we’re really not apart at all.

A Hint of Poetry

There’s poetry for hate and for love.
There are poems for hawks and the dove.
Some are short, some quite long,
some add music and make a song.
~
There are poems that are happy but many are sad.
There’s poetry that’s good while none really bad.
Some poems rhyme and others not,
some just a little, some rhymesalot.
~
There’s effort made to make you smile.
There are jokes thrown in once in a while.
Sometimes yes and sometimes no,
some get posted and others go.
~
There’s poetry that’s biographical.
There are funny poems but this one laughable.
Someday I’ll write a book for print,
someday when I get a hint.

Love and Death, Life and Breath

The universe dark when afraid,
atoms pulse and bonds made.
The voice within will rise and fall,
a poet’s obsession is defining all.
~
Heartbeats heard of passerby,
all’s to feel or question why.
Understood or criticized,
words writ, spoken or surmised.
~
Eye’s see truth and tell no lies,
somewhere, always are bright blue skies.
To write of life is to ponder death.
To be loved is sharing breath.

Gusts

From native seeds to distant seas,
hurricanes to cool breeze,
grassy hills and tumbleweeds,
adrift, aloof, alone and seeking needs.
~
Dreams traded seeking goals,
time’s journeys thickens souls.
Changes changed every day,
pasts to pass, seconds stay.
~
Even odds equal greater,
of each the others creator.
Clouds lift and fog clears,
sunshine brightens lost years.
~
Eyes meet and hands hold,
minds meld and lives unfold.
Vision’s clear, to each we please.
Fusion warms a cool breeze.

Showering

Cuddling on the porch oblivious to the rain,
time’s always perfect when love’s on the brain.
With hands warm and kisses hot,
arms holding tight, sadness forgot.
~
Feeling misty and getting wet,
souls on fire, all needs met.
“I love you” shared with whispers and eyes,
permanent smiles tell no lies.
~
Our nights are filled with starlight,
our days all the more bright.
The cuddling continues back inside,
our future’s forecast, our hearts our guide.

Never Too Late

I woke up really late and had no time to play,
so I couldn’t write your poem today.
But tomorrow is another day,
maybe then my brain will play.
~
My heart is full of love;
my soul is filled with bliss.
My thoughts are now in shambles;
with each blink I feel your kiss.
~
Time now has no meaning,
we’re together or I wait.
Tho my age curve’s now receding,
some things are better late.

Click Clack Kiss Smack

Online dating, what a trip,
in the Arctic I’d rather strip.
It’s a place without written rules.
And the poet’s craft bears no jewels.
~
A sea of faces afloat on a screen,
choices made virtually unseen.
Definitions there have little meaning,
optimistic opinions largely leaning.
~
While kisses await when on track,
misplaced words lead to a smack.
The high and lows beyond compare,
all’s to expose if you dare.
~
Much can be learned about ourselves,
surprises abound when one delves.
While at this stage of life options few,
reality’s virtue’s now less true.
~
Fates may collide with a single click,
or hopes shattered just as quick.
Now looking forward and thinking back,
my head types with a clack.

Perpetual Smiling

Solace can be found when joy’s all around.
A smile on a face puts us in that better place.
Love in your heart’s the perfect place to start.
When the love is shared nothing’s ever feared.
A twinkle in an eye reflects a sparkling sky.
The warmth of hands held, souls mold and meld.
When loving arms hold in whispers secrets told.
On lips fingers trace a smile on a face.
Two smiles we then feel knowing love is real.
Solace is then found and joy’s all around.
