My heart awaits the beat of two.
Life’s breathed into moments few.
Yesterdays on wings we flew.
Tomorrows soar hand in hand with you.

Tomorrow’s poem I’ve yet to write.
My day was full as is the night.
My mind is racing, my hand still.
Emotions’ flowing but dry is my quill.
.
My eyes grow heavy in search of light.
My body’s weary, none left to fight.
Soon I’ll dream of worlds unknown.
All ends the start of a new day grown.

With bay breezes to call our own,
we savored the scents of flora unknown.
We explored a “cottage” of comfort and beauty,
though none as splendid as the beauty with me.
With green eyes glowing and blonde hair flowing,
hand in hand our two hearts knowing.
We’ve art and nature and the joy it brings,
a victrola played and to me she sings.

Simple things make life grand.
Sunset walks holding a loved one’s hand.
Surprise kisses are always a treat.
And a simple smile when again we meet.

Tonight’s goodbyes become tomorrow’s hellos.
The sun rises, waking sky blues and yellows.
Our earth welcoming the day’s green.
Smiles await, the prettiest seen.
Greetings warmed with a hug and kiss.
Sunsets enthrall, never to miss.
Evenings embrace beneath starlit skies.
And tomorrows hellos are tonight’s goodbyes.

Warm smiles await sleepy morning eyes.
Song birds welcome sunny bright blue skies.
Our days ahead filled with nature, music and art.
Time shared together is our futures start.

Another sun rose, words yet to appear.
Birds chirping happily, their voices I can’t hear.
My darling soon awoken, my hearts full of cheer.
Life filling silence sounds to me so dear.
Another morning passes, writing is unclear.
Returning soon it may, or maybe many a year.
I thought I wrote with pencil, I guess it’s with my ear.
Now another day’s calling, time to get in gear.

Don’t fear death, but be concerned.
You’ll leave behind all you’ve learned
The bridges crossed and bridges burned.
Stones skipped while some left unturned
Desires quenched and desires yearned.
Heads dazed and heads turned.
Friendships had and friendships spurned.
Sublime sedations’ and emotions churned.
There’s love given and the love returned.
So be forgotten not, life was earned.

We’ve seen our baby’s first steps and the fall that stings.
There have been tiny kittens and balls of string,
children’s laughter on the backyard swing.
And a pouncing puppy with a new chew ring.
We’ve heard fledglings learn from mom to sing.
Felt the love of another, forever to cling.
Saw young gulls afloat on untested wings.
Now to enjoy joys again with all the joy you bring.

Love is an abstract.
Feelings flutter to distract.
Time passes to parts unknown.
Thoughts of another, ego’s grown.
It’s as undefinable as an alien code.
Like a funky beat to a Shakespearean ode.
Or a Rembrandt with a Picasso tone.
In love lines blurred but never alone.

Fog slowly lifting, there’s a chill in the air.
Ocean breezes billowing through tousled hair.
Footsteps on an endless beach led to today.
Horizons coming into view, here we will stay.

Soar with me my dragonfly.
We’ll journey to a distant sea.
Where the Mer folk swim effortlessly,
in this sea Mer’s too we shall be.
There to venture most happily,
awash in time, floating blissfully.
Then to walk we will in loving tranquility.
On paths uncharted we’ll roam free.
We’ll dance on rainbows days not sunny.
Our mind’s impassioned, bodies tingly.
To soar, you and me, we’ll dream reality.
And in age we’ll see. timelessly.

To all the mothers now and those who came before,
you’ve created life and gifted pure.
Without your love this world’s unsure.
Without you, there’s none to adore.

Time together at the old town beach,
endless waves within our reach,
though sunsets and rainbows often missed.
Memories made of those times we’ve kissed.

A Sunday sunset burst in pastel haze
fading slowly into violets and grays.
Dazed, a pink moon rose in celestial majesty.
This world now out shined for all to see.
Climbing silently over old roofs with leaks,
over the gables of ages and chimney peaks.
In blackness spires spied from the grave.
Leafless limbs shatter this image to save.
A puffy patchwork lace glows with absorption.
Wavy glazing enhances with its distortion.
Betwixt this web our phloxen orb floats higher.
Distance retreats time forward, we both tire.
Starlight dreams swap this rare focal storm.
Spring’s now vaulted into the nightly norm.
