Mutuality

I try to write a love poem most every day.
I try to find the words that are difficult to say.
My heart’s full of joy, beats louder when she’s near.
My brain’s full of mush but the feeling’s clear.
~
We hug and kiss every chance we get.
Our love was noted when first we met.
A better matched pair there can never be.
Our futures now welcome and inspired are we.

Our Time

The clock’s ticking, our time is near.
My heart beats louder, soon she’ll be here.
Hugs await and we’ll chat of our day.
Work’s done now time’s our way.
~
Gentle kisses between laughter we share.
Loving eyes show each other we care.
The sun will set, to paradise we’ll go.
Entwined we doze beneath the stars aglow.

Plan Be

Life was all planned with nothing to do.
I then turned a corner and chanced upon you.
The sky’s a little bluer, my life now much less.
My future now is clearer, nothing’s left to guess.
~
Fear no longer lingers when joy’s by my side.
The outside beckons louder with no need to hide.
You make me smile always and again I feel alive.
Alone I was withering, now together we will thrive.

Sensing Time

When together we are one.
Distance between, there is none.
Your loving hands I need so much.
Yet days can pass without your touch.
~
Time stands still without your kiss.
Your glowing smile, when apart I miss.
But when your presence I recall,
we’re really not apart at all.

A Hint of Poetry

There’s poetry for hate and for love.
There are poems for hawks and the dove.
Some are short, some quite long,
some add music and make a song.
~
There are poems that are happy but many are sad.
There’s poetry that’s good while none really bad.
Some poems rhyme and others not,
some just a little, some rhymesalot.
~
There’s effort made to make you smile.
There are jokes thrown in once in a while.
Sometimes yes and sometimes no,
some get posted and others go.
~
There’s poetry that’s biographical.
There are funny poems but this one laughable.
Someday I’ll write a book for print,
someday when I get a hint.

Love and Death, Life and Breath

The universe dark when afraid,
atoms pulse and bonds made.
The voice within will rise and fall,
a poet’s obsession is defining all.
~
Heartbeats heard of passerby,
all’s to feel or question why.
Understood or criticized,
words writ, spoken or surmised.
~
Eye’s see truth and tell no lies,
somewhere, always are bright blue skies.
To write of life is to ponder death.
To be loved is sharing breath.

Gusts

From native seeds to distant seas,
hurricanes to cool breeze,
grassy hills and tumbleweeds,
adrift, aloof, alone and seeking needs.
~
Dreams traded seeking goals,
time’s journeys thickens souls.
Changes changed every day,
pasts to pass, seconds stay.
~
Even odds equal greater,
of each the others creator.
Clouds lift and fog clears,
sunshine brightens lost years.
~
Eyes meet and hands hold,
minds meld and lives unfold.
Vision’s clear, to each we please.
Fusion warms a cool breeze.

Imagine

On those days away from you,
a text or call just won’t do.
So I stare at your picture then close my eyes,
together again we explore the skies.
~
We roam mountain tops and swim in the sea;
we dance in the forest as free as could be.
We hug and kiss all day and night.
Then I open my eyes having seen the light.

Never Too Late

I woke up really late and had no time to play,
so I couldn’t write your poem today.
But tomorrow is another day,
maybe then my brain will play.
~
My heart is full of love;
my soul is filled with bliss.
My thoughts are now in shambles;
with each blink I feel your kiss.
~
Time now has no meaning,
we’re together or I wait.
Tho my age curve’s now receding,
some things are better late.

Click Clack Kiss Smack

Online dating, what a trip,
in the Arctic I’d rather strip.
It’s a place without written rules.
And the poet’s craft bears no jewels.
~
A sea of faces afloat on a screen,
choices made virtually unseen.
Definitions there have little meaning,
optimistic opinions largely leaning.
~
While kisses await when on track,
misplaced words lead to a smack.
The high and lows beyond compare,
all’s to expose if you dare.
~
Much can be learned about ourselves,
surprises abound when one delves.
While at this stage of life options few,
reality’s virtue’s now less true.
~
Fates may collide with a single click,
or hopes shattered just as quick.
Now looking forward and thinking back,
my head types with a clack.

Perpetual Smiling

Solace can be found when joy’s all around.
A smile on a face puts us in that better place.
Love in your heart’s the perfect place to start.
When the love is shared nothing’s ever feared.
A twinkle in an eye reflects a sparkling sky.
The warmth of hands held, souls mold and meld.
When loving arms hold in whispers secrets told.
On lips fingers trace a smile on a face.
Two smiles we then feel knowing love is real.
Solace is then found and joy’s all around.

No Words

An unexpected journey has begun;
it starts each day with the rising sun.
Two fates collided with a rush,
our worries faded into a hush.
~
I wake each day with a smile,
surely to glow all the while.
My first thought is only you,
now silly dreams just won’t do.
~
Our minds, they are in sync,
I sense what you think.
I know what you’re feeling,
our souls now reeling.
~
Our days now made more bright,
we’ll tingle till our last kiss goodnight.
And I, now a poet speechless and dreams won’t do.
And my heart now and forever beats for only you.

Time’s Up for Down

Days spent in mourning,
nights spent a daze.
Sleep brings no solace,
awaiting morning’s haze.
~
Time has no meaning,
when only ends are sought.
Life has no feeling,
when the mind distraught.
~
Pleasures now elude,
the walls are closing in.
Darkness’s soon to follow,
trapped beneath this skin.
~
Hopes and dreams dissolved,
a mix of bad and worse.
And all that will remain,
yet another mournful verse.

Whom Me

There’s another me I’ve yet to see.
And this other me won’t let this one be.
Both see with my eyes and screw with my head.
But only one’s good, the other better off dead.
~
Never certain whom will wake,
or the trouble they will make.
Their highs often go way, way too far,
their lows always leaving a scar.
~
I need to know from where this comes,
who eats cake and who gets crumbs?
This rollercoaster must soon stop,
but then a merry-go-round I will hop.
~
I’m forcing this poem for a change,
may not be good but surely strange.
And maybe someday we can all agree,
whom the f*** is the real me.

Make Poems Great Again

A fetish for takers and feckless of makers,
believers of fakers and the muckrakers,
a sea of red buttons seen from above,
swaying to orange for whom they love.
~
The air is heated with hate that’s spewed.
But that’s cool if already screwed.
Mirrors shine on what’s not there,
while reflection dulls what’s to fear.
~
A line in the ocean’s making waves,
digging ever deeper graves.
Float if be as bobbing naves,
but beware or soon be slaves.
~
No half or full with no cup,
once buried there is no up.
What lies below lies above,
only truth can raise all with love.

Eye Yai Yai

With simple words this message to a friend.
A message simply wished to never send.
A note of thanks for tender words shared.
And faith of more in time’s unprepared.
~
Good morning “Good Mornings” shall forever persist.
And those bad we’ll forever resist.
Though our presence here’s solely virtual,
your positivity resonates perpetual.
~
With strength and kindness felt far and wide,
you’ve the friendship of many by your side.
Our pasts reflect on all we do.
And future’s to sparkle when again I see you.
