Rest in Peace

The feeling was eerie and the air was cold.
And luck’s the reason this story’s told.
A misty moon mourned the starless night.
Finger-like branches obscured my sight.
~
A wrong turn made while homeward bound.
The path was new through unknown ground.
The fog grew thicker until all was black.
One misstep and I fell with a whack.
~
I tripped on a stone surrounded by more,
each a marker for a one-way door.
I’m surely welcomed but my time not right.
My eyes then drawn toward the light.
~
In the sky a lone star shone,
in a sea of billions we’re all alone.
Minutes in awe I lay there still,
but to soar with them I never will.
~
Thoughts of freedom filled my head,
but first to my feet amongst the dead.
A hand reached out to aid my rise.
My star consumed to my surprise.
~
A faceless figure was now my guide.
With a yank I was by their side.
My fate’s now held in arms unknown,
tip-toeing through that field of stone.
~
Iron gates clanged for us to follow.
An end perceived I did wallow.
The wind then howled, its piercing felt.
Hale was next with ice to pelt.
~
Each breath shorter, each step less,
each second longer with greater the stress.
Suddenly my companion then mysteriously vanished.
Blindly I pawed for the safety I’d banished.
~
I yelled for help with no one to hear.
To die alone my biggest fear.
A tug at my ankle then sent me running.
Slipping on ice, the fall was stunning.
~
Blurry snowflakes covered my face.
Would I be found here frozen in place?
With one last breath I let out a scream.
And lucky was I to awake from that dream.

Awake

As a child I was longing to see;
those glorious times ahead of me.
The ocean called as did the stars.
Riches I’d have and fancy cars.
~
I’d marry a princess, have lots of kids.
I’ll do all the things that mom forbids.
I’d stay up late and eat lots of sweets.
I’ll sleep till noon on soft flannel sheets.
~
Teen years came, dreams went astray.
I dreaded school and my life in every way.
But off I trudged through rain and snow.
Where I was going I didn’t know.
~
Hair grew long and patience grew thin.
Trouble was found, most from within.
The rage was waning by senior year.
My future was waiting tied to a pier.
~
Adventures were had though not for long.
I did some things I knew were wrong.
The hammer fell then back on the street.
Many days traveled to get home and eat.
~
Dad was displeased, mom’s not surprised.
It was about my time to get civilized.
I rode the bus to work at the mill.
The paychecks earned were never to thrill.
~
My life, I thought, was now just a waste.
Decision made poorly and with great haste.
Dreams of the past seemed now far away.
Would the rest of my life be like today?
~
Options getting fewer, debts soon to grow.
Choices are but two, the time’s now to go.
At that very instant dreams came back in view.
As learning from the past will awaken you.

Withering

The bloom has gone from my fragrant rose.
Will it return, no one knows.
The thorns are still there, in my side.
The bleeding continues yet the words now hide.
~
The trellis climbed, my energy’s spent.
Yet each day I wake in search of a scent.
The ground’s now closer, I taste the dirt.
My feelings strong but now they hurt.
~
Perhaps a tree I’ll now befriend.
Trees live long, I’ll miss their end.
My pen will rest as I branch out.
I’ll climb again but poetry’s in doubt.

Exponential Potential

I wake each day with the rising sun.
Time is shared with laughter and fun.
Passion is felt with every embrace.
Heart beats race to see her face.
~
Years have passed, now I’ve a clue.
Love’s made easy loving you.
Day’s begin with a good morning kiss.
Evening’s remiss not snuggled in bliss.
~
Bonds are made; both strong and weak.
The past was only just a peek.
Thoughts can often cloud the mind.
Though with one in kind, love’s to find.
~
Answers are found in plain sight.
The stars will guide our every night.
Questions asked now foretold.
Forever to hold will never grow old.

Habitual Ritual

From dreams inspired overnight,
her morning poem I long to write.
I wake at dawn feeling bliss,
thinking first of the day’s first kiss.
~
The kiss returned and we snuggle close.
Our ritual’s begun with a timely dose.
Her touch is felt from head to toe.
I love you shared and feelings grow.
~
Our room brightens, the future’s new.
The sun wakes to skies of blue.
I hold her close till dreams return.
I then rise with none to yearn.
~
Passion flows and coffee brews.
Words perk from flavors to choose.
Visions recalled, emotions poured.
Ink boils from the one adored.
~
Shadows dance to a beating heart.
Her eyes open to another start.
Another day filled with love and bliss.
Another ode welcomed with a kiss.

Finding Love, Giving Thanks

Love is found in the morning light.
Memories fresh of bonds made last night.
The outside hidden beyond the windows glaze.
In the starlight into her eyes I gaze.
~
Whispers felt between kisses heard.
Touch’s spoken without a word.
Breathing heavy and lips explore.
Skin is soft and the feeling’s pure
~
Worries fade, this world’s alright.
A kiss on her shoulder concludes the night.
Heartbeats slow and eyelids weigh.
Goodnight my love, thanks for today.

I Think I’ll Write A Love Song

I think I’ll write a love song,
then you’ll know how I feel.
When you hear your love song,
you’ll know our love is real.
~
It’ll start off nice and slow,
my guitar will set the tone.
Next is a little drum,
then no one feels alone.
~
I’m going to hit some high notes,
so you know how far I’ll go.
Followed by some low notes,
a feeling we’ll never know.
~
Somewhere near the middle,
I’ll pick up the pace.
All the while I’m thinking;
of you and your lovely face.
~
I’ll end with a flourish;
you’ll rise from your seat.
I’ll finish with I love you;
you make my heart skip a beat.

Shades

Another day, another time,
what will be tomorrows rhyme?
A rocky past has taken its toll.
Still wonderful people surround my soul.

My head still filled with uncertainty.
And always will be, but that’s just me.
My words fill pages no one will see.
Pencils get shorter, I wish they were free.

Another day, another time,
life’s hard while dreams sublime.
My heart’s thawing from winters long.
My eyes see both right and wrong.

Moments are filled with surprise.
Youth traded becoming wise.
To question this is wiser still.
The time will come, I know it will.

Another rainbow in shades of gray,
another time, another day!

Forever More

There are parts of her I’ve yet to kiss.
But all will be found and none I’ll miss.
Her lips well covered her face always more,
her neck I long to further explore.
~
Her lobes enjoyed and nibbled much.
Her body quivers to my gentle touch.
Passion ensues and intuition guides.
New destinations found as my tongue glides.
~
Her response is felt on my warm lips,
whilst hands caress her soft round hips.
The kissing proceeds from her head to toes.
But parts in-between I shan’t expose.

No Down Side

Creativity’s
not about making things up,
it’s making things work.

Conundrum

If love made as much
as the time I spend writing,
I’d no time to write.

All Good

Love is beautiful,
when all else is not. Love is
all when from the heart.

The Void

~
Bedtime soon and demons shall awake;
but with a soul gone there’s none to take.
The screams in my head scare the spirits away.
Nightmares fast-forward to the light of day.

The ghosts turn white when I yell boo.
And the Reaper can shove his sickle too.
Coz in reality horror lives and fantasy dies.
And sleep‘s just a void behind closed eyes.

Writing Time

I woke this morning to a bright sunny day.
There’s a chill in the air, but that’s OK.
I had a good rest and that’s something new.
But when I check the news I’m sure to feel blue.
~
While writing this poem today I had a novel thought.
I’ll skip the news for now and feel much less fraught.
I’m not irresponsible because I really do care.
I just need some time to live without the fear.
~
My hair is turning gray, but that could be just age.
The time comes for all to turn another page.
A chapter’s surely ending and a new one will begin.
But will it be a tome or a volume very thin?
~
Time will surely pass as it always does.
Will we seek tomorrows or the way it was?
Our story’s now converged, edits now have past.
The final word is ours but we’d better make it fast.

Ambiguity

Tomorrow’s poem might be my best.
It could be different from all the rest.
I have some ideas I’d like to share.
I’m just not sure if you’ll care.
~
The title for it I can’t decide.
But I’ll be searching far and wide.
I’m pretty sure it will rhyme.
As they do most of the time.
~
It may be funny with sad mixed in.
It could have numbers, they make me grin.
I have no end or much of a start.
When it’s done I hope it’s art.
~
Beginnings are somewhere, this might be it.
But if it’s not I don’t care one bit.
I’ll choose my words carefully, as you can see.
Cos I can’t be sure what’ll come out of me.
~
That sounds bad; maybe I’ll edit that out.
When something’s good there’s usually no doubt.
It’s time to go, but this chat’s been fun.
I’ll see you tomorrow with perhaps a better one.

Future Reflections

Hot and cold,
feeling old,
awaiting the sunrise
to blind my eye
of visions deepest blue.
~
In a clockwise world
my thoughts drawn back,
tension’s wound
soon to crack,
options are but few.
~
Up and down
and round and round,
in the din
with none to win,
time dreamt through.
~
Words to mind
relief to find,
distraction consumes
on leaf life blooms,
unknown is the hue.
~
Buttons pushed
wishing rest,
weight is shared
solace guessed,
trying is the clue.
~
A cloud reflects
eyes shut detects
a glint of gold,
change I’m sold,
tomorrow’s now in view.
~
Touched a screen
hope was seen,
hearts of friends,
my future mends
with much thanks to you.

For Sure

I’m not sure of the time,
or the day of the week.
I’m not certain that I hear,
or that I even speak.
~
It seems that I can see,
as the words become more clear.
I’m sure that I can feel,
as I live in constant fear.
~
I’m probably indecisive,
then again maybe not.
I’d like to think I think,
but unfortunately not a lot.
~
Uncertainty is a problem;
it’s something we all share.
I’m not sure you agree,
I’m not sure that I care.
~
There is one thing I do know,
this poem is nearly done.
I’m not sure what comes next,
but the future has begun.

She’s too Nice to Play

~

I’ve waited for this moment

My whole short life long

I think about her everyday

And now to write her song

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

.

She’s a curly long neck blonde

And her moans so ever sweet

When I hold her in my arms

She knocks me off my feet

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

.

I saved up all my money

I ain’t been eatin’ right

But when I cash this paycheck

I’ll be takin her home tonight

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

.

I’ve been eye’n her now for years

And she’s waited just for me

Soon we’ll slip up the backstairs

So nobody else will see

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

.

I unwrapped her very slowly

My heart picked up a beat

Now with her curves in my hands

My life now feels complete

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

.

I wrap my arms around her

I hold her real tight

When I feel her around my neck

It makes me feel just right

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

She tempts me oh so very much

While she sits close and still

To have her rest upon my knee

She gives me the biggest thrill

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

 .

Though rarely is she picked-up

She never lets me down

She always leaves me breathless

I think I’m gonna drown

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

.

Now swaddled in golden satin

She does forever lay

Her beauty I’m unworthy

Cos she’s just too nice to play

.

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I want her any way

 .

Oh she’s my pretty baby

But she’s too nice to play

I know she’ll never love me

But I love her any way

One of Those (many) Days

Ever have a day when nothing goes right?
You get up late from a sleepless night.
The gray surrounds with no refrain.
The day’s chilly with dreary rain.
.
Inhale some eggs with runny yolks.
Now running behind but out of smokes,
detoured to the store to buy some more.
Rush to work, tip toe through the door.
.
But the boss is there, bad news had.
A report’s disappeared, computer’s bad.
The day runs long, no time for lunch.
Tomorrow’s the same, I’ve a hunch.
.
Then finally home but all alone.
Heat’s off and chilled to the bone.
Boiler’s ready, thermostat’s not.
Batteries needed that I forgot.
.
Hunger’s remembered, cupboards bare.
Cereal found, no milk to spare,
so half a box will have to do.
Nights half over, I’m glad it’s through.

Nerdy Lingerie

On tippy toes looking pert,
she dances in her Hogwarts shirt.
Her thick round glasses gaze my way,
she’s so darn cute in nerdy lingerie.
~
She kisses me with a smile,
I kiss her back and we giggle a while.
The music stops but we don’t care,
it’s more about the hugs that we share.
~
She wears her PJ’s when not in bed,
her hair’s always tousled on her head.
She excites me greatly every day,
with or without her nerdy lingerie.

It’s True, It’s True

Our day apart has yet to start,
already I’m missing you.
I woke at dawn with a stretch and yawn,
my morning looking blue.
~
Alone I sit, reminiscing a bit,
thinking of the things we do.
We talk and smile and hug a while,
then kiss an hour or two.
~
My watch I spy with a longing eye,
wishing this day was through.
The feelings clear that you’re my dear,
you make each minute new.
~
Awake I dream a subconscious stream,
my world comes in view.
Silently I sing of the joy you bring,
thankful our love is true.

I will be your lover,
each and every day.

I will be your soulmate,
holding you when you’re blue.
I will make you laugh,

No Hocus Pocus,
time’s to focus.
I’ve faced much dread,
dreams again shed.

And I’ll rise from the trash,
of once certainties ash.
There poetic ember burns.
Passion is as passion yearns.

A phoenix again will rise,
glowing to dry teary yes.
Where risen to a painted sky.
The muse is I.
